Based on the Quad-Core Intel Xeon 7300 Series platform, the new Sun Fire X4450 and Sun Fire X4150 servers are designed to help customers keep pace with the need to support a growing number of users who demand more services, yet offer industry leading resource utilisation, scalability and energy efficiency.

With this announcement, Sun delivers Intel Xeon processor-based systems that run a broad range of applications and support multiple operating systems, including Solaris OS, Windows, Linux and VMware.
