Sun is recruiting full-time MySQL software support engineers to participate fully in the life of the MySQL Support Team. Support engineers help customers troubleshoot technical problems they face in using a MySQL database and supporting products. These range from simple installation questions to advanced performance tuning of complex systems.

Responsibilities:
• Answer email and phone requests for help from customers.
• Collaborate in virtual teamwork with other Support Engineers.
• Diagnose software bugs and malfunctions.
• Advise MySQL managers on technical issues.
• Travel to company meetings and training classes.
Qualifications:
• Excellent knowledge of the MySQL server and utilities.
• Experience managing MySQL in production settings.
• Knowledge of MySQL Cluster, or strong interest in learning it.
• Knowledge of Linux, Unix, PHP, C/C++, Perl or other tools.
• Ability to pass all levels of MySQL Certification
• Excellent spoken and written communications skills in Mandarin
• Good spoken and written communications skills in English
• A desire to serve customers with a passion.
• A desire to be a team player within a small virtual community.
• Ability to work independently and remotely from home.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with limited supervision.
• Ability to travel internationally without restriction.
