Summary : Sun Microsystems, Inc. is launching a new initiative Sun Campus
Ambassador Program to promote Sun's technology and development
tools to academic developers.

Sun is looking for graduate or senior level students with a strong
background in software development/programming as Sun Campus
Ambassadors. The Campus Ambassadors will work in conjunction with the
Global Education and Research team at Sun to drive adoption of Sun's
platforms (OpenSolaris and Java) and development tools among Academic
Developers (students, faculty, researchers and IT development
communities). Sun will provide extensive training to the Campus
Ambassadors on Sun technologies, including OpenSolaris, Java, Netbeans,
and Sun Studio. The Campus Ambassadors would work approximately 80 hours
per semester to promote Sun technology and development tools.

: Job Description:

- Lead the Sun developer community on your campus
- Run Sun Technology demo sessions on your campus
- Promote Sun training events on your campus
- Promoting programming competitions
- Customize activities for each campus in conjunction with the local Sun
team.
- Promote Sun's platforms and development tools to professors and
researchers

*Qualifications:

- Proficient in the Java programming language or C/C++
- Interest and experience with UNIX/Linux/Solaris
- Good command of English in writing,reading and speaking
- Excellent communication skills.
- Comfortable and confident with public speaking
- Self-motivated, highly organized and can work independently.

*Preferred:*

- Experience of organizing activities.
- Experience with Solaris, Sun Studio, Java, or NetBeans.
- Major in Computer Engineering/Science.
- Graduate student.
