Summary

The Project Manager role has overall P&L responsibility and accountability for projects under his management. The role manages the day-to-day operations of projects to ensure they meet contractual, financial, schedule and quality commitments. The projects are typically system integration projects including various hardware and software from different vendors.
The Project Manager also work closely with Sales organization during proposal phase to ensure new opportunities are well scoped, risks are properly mitigated, and efforts are reasonably estimated.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities
1.Own project P&L responsibility and accountability.
2.Manage projects based on Sun's project management methodology to ensure projects are completed on-time, on-budget, and with high customer satisfaction.
3.Manage project teams consisting of Sun technical delivery consultants, partners and third-party suppliers to execute project plans in accordance of contractual, financial, quality, schedule and customer satisfaction commitments.
4.Implement project quality management processes and controls to ensure that all project delivery work are conducted in a quality, consistent and compliant manner.
5.Assist pre-sales team in opportunity qualification, deal scoping, cost estimation, risk assessment and overall solution formulation during initial deal pursuit and bid management.
6.Manage project resources to maximize productivity and utilization levels.
7.Provide line management level support or intervention to resolve escalated project issues.
8.Provide timely and accurate updates, reports and escalation to senior management on the health of project delivery operations.
9.Provide coaching and mentoring to project team members.
10.Work closely with account sales to identify and develop new business opportunities during and after project delivery.
Qualifications and Experience
1.Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
2.At least 8 years of IT industry experience, including at least 5 years of project management experience in a professional services or consulting organization, preferably with a major IT or computer vendor.
3.Solid track record in managing large-scale complex mission-critical projects or consulting assignments with good exposure to complex systems integration or technology consulting projects. Large-scale application/software development project management experience is essential with a strong understanding of modern / progressive development methodologies.
4.Good knowledge and exposure to Telecommunications, Financial Services, Government and/or Manufacturing industries and experience in IT and e-Business infrastructures and architecture design and implementation preferred.
5.Proven experience and success in managing technical project team sizes of 10 or more team members.
6.Has a strong business acumen, possesses high energy levels and self-motivation, and thrives under pressure in a dynamic and fast paced environment. Must be a self-starter. Results driven and achievement oriented with an aggressive personality and “can-do” attitude, willing to take on major challenges.
7.Ability to manage complex external customer account relationships and expectations and internal cross-functional stakeholder interests.
8.Exposure to formal project management and structured methodologies. Formal project management certification such as PMP and PRINCE2 would be an advantage.
9.Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluency in English and Mandarin essential.
